I WOKE UP LIKE THIS - THE ALBUM

I wonder why Bob Spring triggers melancholy in happiness. Maybe his songs are too intelligent to drown themselves in sheer sadness.Maybe you just want to sit down, raise your glass and clink glasses to sunrise, the end of the night, in the quiet hope that you will be wrong and that the country will remain dark forever. Bob Springs Dark Country is an emotional home, his new album "I woke up like this" with its sixteen songs is the soundtrack for the few hours you have left until you wake up somewhere out there.

This record really means a lot to me because it represents a turning point in my life. The last 4 years were somehow dominated by bad luck, although I’m not trying to abdicate my self-responsibility. My life was always tending to be chaotic and I think that the constant noise in my head and heart kept me from noticing what was going on around me. Even though the fall and the subsequent impact were hard to take, they had a positive aspect as well… They provided room for self-reflection. I’ d dare to say “rebirth”. All the songs on “I woke up like this” are extremely personal, maybe a little too personal. On the other hand, so I think, it’s exactly that, what makes this album noteworthy.
